Earlier this year Plan to Thrive convenor Holly Hammond undertook a research trip in Europe. Readers in Perth are welcomed to attend a reportback on Monday 17 October.
A relaxing session to share new ideas and tools for activist wellbeing.
Holly Hammond (Plan to Win and Plan to Thrive) travelled to the UK and Spain for a research trip about activist health and wellbeing in April and May of this year.
Her trip included:
- Participating in Sustaining Our Activism: Building Resilient Communities – a week long residential retreat in Devon, England.
- Participating in A Mindful Life: Inner and Outer Transition, a five day residential retreat at Schumacher College near Totnes (the town that kicked off the Transition Towns Network).
- Meeting with a number of activist educators and wellness practitioners including folks from Counselling for Social Change, Rhizome, Campaign Bootcamp, London Roots Collective, Seeds for Change, Transition Network, Cre-Act, and eco-Dharma.
- A writing retreat in the north of Spain to collate findings, write articles and develop curriculum for future workshops.
Holly will share insights from the trip in a suitably relaxing and nourishing session that will provide new perspectives on how to show care for yourself and other activists.
